September 15: Former Chinese footballer Hao Haidong has announced a stake in Fengkuang.com, a Beijing-based online game company, which will see Hao become the Chief Experience Officer as well as brand ambassador of the company.
Hao also announced that Fengkuang.com will release the beta version of Chinese Super League (CSL) Live or Shikuang Zhongchao, a mobile game featuring all players of 16 CSL clubs, to the public on September 26.
Fengkuang.com has become the official senior game partner of the CSL for the 2017-2022 seasons in a US$15 million deal on August 21, which enables the company to use the names and logos of the league and all 16 clubs, names and images of players, including coaches and all match data of the league.
As Zhang Lijun, President of Fengkuang.com, said, “Sports gaming is a market of intellectual property, so Fengkuang.com aspires to become a leading player through heavy investment in copyrights and introduction of soccer superstars. In this regard, Hao Haidong, as a soccer celebrity, will help us become more popular for soccer fans.”
