The newly-established Olympic Forest Park JF Dry Ski Slope officially opened to the public on the 10th of September, one day after holding a news conference on the 9th of September.

The facility, covering an area of 20,000 square meters, has become the largest area for outdoor dry ski slopes in Asia. It is designed to meet the demands of mass participation as well as provide training bases for Chinese national ski teams and Beijing ski teams.

As said in several media reports, the ski place, as an important part of Beijing’s “8 million People Winter Sports Plan”, will actively boost its own development through public training, campus projects and mass-participation events.

Sara Lewis, Secretary General of Federation International de Ski (FIS), has named the Slope as a "GISS-CHINA" training base of FIS. She said the FIS is pleased to work with it to promote the development of the sport in China.

The British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI), certified organisation of professional snow sport instructors in the UK, has signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation aimed to facilitate the resort’s collaboration with international professional skiing training organizations in the coming years.

The Slope has also been designated as a training base for Chinese national snowboarding slope skills ski teams.
