September 7: The World Winter Sports Expo 2017 has opened in the China National Convention Center, Beijing from September 7-10. Themed "Leading the Way", this year's expo is the second edition of the event and serves as part of fulfilling the commitment made by the Beijing Olympic Games Organizing Committee during their bid for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
This expo, co-hosted by Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and International Data Group (IDG), will feature exhibitions, summit forums and other relevant activities.
Covering an area of over 22,000 square meters, the exhibition has attracted over 400 brands and over 9,000 distributors. Meanwhile, 125,000 visitors are expected throughout the expo. The summit forums include a major conference and over 20 parallel forums, with over 200 winter sport industry practitioners participating.
What is new to this expo is the ground-breaking concept of the "Major Honored Guest Country". Switzerland, as the awardees of this year's title, have sent a team to Beijing, in order to start relevant cooperations between China and Switzerland, as well as to promote the co-development of the winter sports industry in China and throughout the world.
