In the staging of the 13th National Games of the People's Republic of China, Tianjin, a metropolis of China and the host city of these games, has built and renovated 49 venues and stadiums. Media reports have said that these venues and stadiums will be opened to the general public for free or at a discounted price after the games.
As has been reported, 21 of these 49 venues and stadiums were constructed for the National Games with 15 existing venues and stadiums being revamped, together with 11 existing venues. Among the 21 new venues and stadiums, five of them will act as training bases for professional athletes, while 10 of them were set up on campuses and will be open to the general public. The remaining 6 are located in each district of Tianjin and will also be available to residents there.
The National Games of the People's Republic of China, sometimes known as the All China Games, is the premier sports event in China at national level. It is usually held once every four years with the latest edition kicking off in Tianjin on August 27th. The largest-ever edition will run through to September 8th.
