The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has released a roster of schools and counties/districts featuring junior football campuses.
The Ministry of Education reportedly started the application process in March and finished it in May. 7232 schools applied to be football-featured schools and 33 counties/districts applied to be pilot camps. According to the final roster, 6832 out of 7232 schools and all 33 counties/districts have been selected.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has demanded that these schools, counties and districts work hard on football coaching and matches, pitch construction, investment and management and improve the experience for football reform in schools. These schools, counties and districts should create an internet-based information platform and post their latest news and activity contents on it, which can be used as a communication platform tool and a supervisory channel.
As for the local governing bodies, the Ministry of Education has also insisted that they to give these schools, counties and districts top priority and support them by helping with their soccer policies and by integrating various resources.
