According to Xinhua, Borussia Dortmund have held a training session prior to the 2017 International Champions Cup (ICC) China match against AC Milan at the Guangzhou University City Stadium.
The Bundesliga outfit sees China as a market with great growth potential and has been searching for suitable Chinese partners to promote their expansion in the country.
On its second trip to China, the club has signed a marketing agreement with Chinese bike-sharing company Ofo Inc. On July 17, the Chinese company held a ceremony to welcome the German club with Dortmund players Christian Pulisic and Sokratis Papastathopoulos taking a ride on the famous yellow bikes, Ofo’s flagship product, around the city of Guangzhou.
On the same day, Eastroc Super Drink, an official sponsor of the 2017 ICC China, also welcomed Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan to the capital of South China's Guangdong Province.
As Lin Mugang, VP of the Chinese drink brand, said, “they are really impressed by the ICC’s fans’ passion for sports. Therefore, the business is looking to reach its target customers through this sponsorship partnership.
