As a member of Chinese Athletics E-Sports League (CAEL), FC Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng are currently working on setting up their eSport team. The team will see 4 players in total, made up of two professional eSport players and two amateur eSport players. The two amateur players will be selected from nation-wide tryouts based on EA Sports’s massively popular free-to-play multiplayer online football game, FIFA Online 3.
On June 16 Tencent Sports held a press conference to announce the kick-off of the Chinese eSports Football League, the first ever eSports football league in China. This new eSports football league will see 10 Chinese Super League (CSL) clubs join the CAEL to compete for the overall title.
Founded in 2016,CAEL is dedicated to combining traditional sports and eSports to create a new marketing approach for CAEL members. Currently, CAEL’s priorities are to provide assistance to traditional sports clubs in setting up their eSports team and to select players from open tryouts.
