Before dawn Beijing time on December 24th, the final of the Italian Super Cup kicked off in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The game featured old rivals, Juventus and AC Milan. Milan eventually beat Juventus 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out, and claimed the trophy. As reported by ANSA Italia, Sino-Europe Sports had set a bonus of Euro 1.5 million for AC Milan to win the Cup, spurring the team on to win the competition.
The chairman of Sino-Europe Sports, Li Yonghong stated in an interview that the official takeover of AC Milan remains pending.
According to Li Yonghong, the fund raised by Sino-Europe Sports has exceeded the amount necessary for the investment, and the settlement will be concluded once the processes specified by the competent authorities are complete. Sino-Europe Sports are confident about the approval being on schedule. They believe that the settlement will be concluded ahead of the date predetermined with Fininvest. Hence, they don’t consider it necessary to discuss details about a Plan B.
