The Premier League side Manchester City has joined forces with Chinese online sports platform Tencent, to give fans in China access to exciting, behind-the-scenes content as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
This deal will see City interact with Chinese supporters via Tencent-owned social media platforms WeChat and Penguin Live. In addition, Tencent Sports users in Beijing will have access to exclusive player meet and greets, which will be streamed on Penguin Live.
“The reach and strength of Tencent’s media channels make them a market leader in their field and everyone at Manchester City is hugely excited to kick start our partnership with them,” commented Tom Glick, Chief Commercial Officer of City Football Group.
"We believe the extent of their channels, coupled with the engaging and compelling content we produce, will enable football fans to gain unique insights into Manchester City and how we are preparing for the upcoming season under Pep Guardiola."
