The Wanda Group and Italy’s Lega Serie A have come to an agreement that will see Italian football promoted across China, according to the Italian media outlet GazzettaWorld.
As stated in the report, a verbal accord was reached during a lunch meeting on Tuesday, though nothing has yet been signed. Wanda executive Zhang Lin and Marco Bolgaretti of Infront Italy were joined in Milan by three representatives of Serie A, namely Maurizio Beretta, Adriano Galliani and Marco Brunelli.
It is said that once the deal is finalized, Wanda will offer a base in the Asian market for further marketing of Serie A.
Zhang Lin enjoyed a whirlwind visit to Milan. On Monday he met with football club presidents including Inter’s Erick Thohir. It remains to be seen what comes of those discussions, since there has been no official comment up to now.
